Epilogue -
Final Thoughts

Dr. Paul Brunton in his classic 1935 book, The Secret Path, shares this story:

"I like the frank declaration of the Red Indian chief who wanted to attack the little Quaker meeting-house of Easton township, in the state of New York, one bright summer morning in the year 1775. 'Indian come to white man house,' he said, pointing with his finger towards the settlement, 'Indian want to kill white man, one, two, three, six, all!' and he clutched the tomahawk at his belt with gruesome gesture. 'Indian come, see white man sit in house; no gun, no arrow, no knife; all quiet, all still, worshipping Great Spirit. Great Spirit inside Indian, too,' he pointed to his breast; the Great Spirit say: 'Indian! No kill them!'"

Creativity is like the Great Spirit - in all of us, yet beyond each of us.

If we don't kill our creativity with relative beliefs and ego, we can nurture its natural power. It has been the aim of this book to demystify creativity and the creative process by showing that creativity, like electricity, is a naturally occurring power that is there for all, all the time. Like electricians, we can harness our creative power so that it works better and better.

By objectively asking the questions "what is working?" and "how can we make it work better?" we begin to harness the creative power that lies within us all.

It is a journey. Sunrise. Sunset. Each direction has its beauty, and so it is with each point along the Creative Compass, so enjoy!

Do you have your dance card out? The Great Spirit dances a cosmic dance of unending creativity in all directions. Viva the Creative Tangos that Work for All of Us!   top
